Rachel Monroe – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS softball team placed ninth out of 32 teams in last weekend’s prestigious Kissimmee Classic Invitational Tournament. The Mustangs finished with three wins and one loss.

The team leaders were sophomore Avery Goelz with a .600 batting average, senior Morgan Cummins with a .538 batting average, and sophomore Taylor Woodring with a .416 batting average.

This week the Mustangs are looking to sweep Braden River at Braden River Wednesday, April 11. The Mustangs then head to Port Charlotte.  The junior varsity (JV) game starts at 4:30, Varsity at 6:30 on Thursday April 12.

Senior night will take place Tuesday, April 17. The Mustangs will be taking on Wesley Chapel at home.

Senior Madi Locastro, pitcher and third basemen said, “I’ve watched three senior nights throughout my time at Lakewood Ranch and it’s hard to believe I’m finally going to be a part of one. It’s sad to think it will be over soon, but I am grateful for all of the memories I’ve made being a Lakewood Ranch softball player.”
