Ally Ellis – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS girls flag football team dropped their most recent game at Palmetto High School against the Tigers.

“It was another intense game to watch, but we had a great turn out on supporters,” said sophomore Kelly Walker.

They will play their next game at home tonight against Braden River High School. This game will also include their senior night celebrations, unless it is canceled due to weather. If re-scheduled, dates and times will be determined.  The Mustangs are 5-2 this year.

Senior Mckenzie Mazzella sad, “If we defeat either Braden River High School or Manatee High School in the next game, we will win the district championship.”

Coach Elijah Weaver said, “The JV team has been struggling this year due to four injuries on the team, but they continue to put their heads down and battle through it. As for varsity, they are doing better than ever.”

Coach Weaver looks forward to the end of the season with the two teams.
