(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – April is an eventful month for the LRHS marching band.

From 5-8 p.m. on April 16, they will hold a guard and drumline “Ice Breaker” event in the band room. Anyone who is interested in joining drumline or color guard next season should attend this since the event will give an overview of what will be expected next year.

Registration for marching band is scheduled for April 17 in the band room. Band director Ron Lambert will also reveal the show theme for next year’s season.

Soon after sign-ups, the marching band will have FUNdamentals nights from 5-8 p.m. on April 25-26 in the band room. This is where new members can come and warm up to their new instrument or equipment. It also gives members a chance to meet new people before marching band starts.

The last event in April will be the Desoto Heritage Parade. New members of the LRHS marching band are welcome to join the parade to get a feel of what it will be like to march.

For more information on joining marching band, please contact Lambert in room 224.
