Morgan Lingle – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Last weekend the LRHS Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) program participated   Suncoast championship orienteering meet at the Alafia River State Park.

This was JROTC’s last meet before States at Brooksville. Orienteering is a competitive sport in which participants find their way to various checkpoints across rough country with the aid of a map and a compass, the winner is the one with the lowest elapsed time.

LRHS took home second place. They yellow team took home first, orange fourth and green second.

Mustang senior command sergeant major Elsa Fagulha is excited, “We had a lot of kids that placed, and the experienced runners struggled a little at this course but overall, we came together as a team.”
