LRHS musicians entertain UTC patrons

Markella Paradissis-Wagner– Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Live music filled the halls of the Mall at University Town Center (UTC) on Saturday, April 7, as LRHS was one of the only high school music programs to be featured in UTC’s new Spring Concert Series.

Due to the rainy weather, the concert moved inside, but it wasn’t any less impressive. The musicians performed from 6-8 p.m., with brief set changes in between for each band. The Symphonic band played first, followed by the Symphonic Winds.

After the Intermission, both of LRHS’ Jazz 1 and Jazz 2 bands had shoppers dancing and cheering. The young musicians worked hard to engage the audience.

Senior clarinet player Jamie Thomas said, “This event really showed us off to the community and gave us great exposure. I had so much fun and enjoyed the opportunity to play in front of a different kind of crowd. It was a great performance for the band.”
