Sofia Anderson and Sydney Davis – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Senior year is ending and students are preparing for graduation. Those planning to graduate this year have some important dates to keep in mind.
Any senior debts must be handled with the bookkeeper and a form must be signed to get a cap and gown. Seniors cannot graduate unless all their debts are paid.
Senior awards night will be at 6 p.m., May 1.
Senior dinner will be at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, and will feature a black and white event. Tickets will go out soon and are free for all seniors.
Exam week for seniors is May 7 – 9. Forms will go out soon regarding senior exam exemptions.
All senior classwork must be submitted to teachers by noon, May 11.
Each senior will get five tickets for graduation; however, students can request to get up to three more tickets in Fleury’s room. The extra tickets are not first-come first-serve, either all students requesting extra tickets get some, or no one does.
Cap & Gown pick-up is at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 17. Mustangs can purchase their caps and gowns online or by order form. Forms can be picked up in senior class adviser Ann Fleury’s room, 572. For more information, Mustangs can call Herff Jones at (239)278-4555.
Graduation practice will be at the convention center at 8:15 a.m. on Friday, May 18. Graduation will be held at the Manatee County Convention Center at 7 p.m. May 18. For family and friends unable to attend graduation will be streamed. Seniors are reminded to get to graduation early as the parking lot fills up quickly.
Senior Payton King talked about her final thoughts, “I am very excited about cap & gown pickup. My sister always told me putting the cap & gown on makes everything seem more real. I’m very excited about graduating and seeing all my friends walk across the stage. My senior year has been one to remember.”
