Anna Stock – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – An LRHS senior meeting was held at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, April 3 in the school cafeteria. The meeting included details on prom, exam week, graduation, and important reminders. During the meeting seniors filled out senior surveys, name cards, and were entered into a raffle to win senior gear.
During first period classes, seniors were given prom slips.
To leave at 10:23 a.m. on the day of prom, seniors must have their senior privilege card and a filled-out prom slip on the day of the event. For those who have lost either of the items needed, adviser Ann Fleury will sell replacements for $5 in her room, 572.
LRHS Principal Craig Little told the class of 2018, “While this is an exciting time in your lives, remember to not let your emotions get to you. Finish the year strong and stay safe.”
Any debts seniors uphold must be handled with the bookkeeper and a form must be signed to get a cap and gown. Seniors cannot graduate unless all their debts are paid.
An important date is senior awards night at 6 p.m., May 1.
Senior dinner will be at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, and will feature a black and white event. Tickets will go out soon and are free for all seniors.
Exam week for seniors is May 7 – 9. Forms will go out soon regarding senior exam exemptions.
Approaching graduation, cap and gown pickup will be from 2:30-4 p.m. on Thursday, May 17.
Each senior will get five tickets for graduation; however, students can request to get up to three more tickets in Fleury’s room. The extra tickets are not first-come first-serve, either all students requesting extra tickets get some, or no one do.
Graduation practice will be at the convention center at 8:15 a.m. on Friday, May 18.
Finally, graduation will be held at the Manatee County Convention Center at 7 p.m. May 18. For family and friends unable to attend graduation will be streamed. Seniors are reminded to get to graduation early as the parking lot fills up quickly.
