Rachel Lamoureaux and Olivia Loop – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The last LRHS blood drive of the 2017-18 school year will be on Wednesday, April 4 in the gym all day long. Students can sign up for the blood drive at all lunches through Tuesday. Students are reminded to make sure that the teacher of the class they will be missing is aware that they will be participating in the blood drive.
Oneblood is awarding scholarships to seniors who have donated the most blood, as well as the some seniors on the blood drive committee who have dedicated their time for this program. The BUBBA foundation for seat belt awareness will be matching the scholarships for the seniors.
At the most recent blood drive over 200 people donated, and the blood drive committee is hoping for more donations this time.
All donors will receive a free Oneblood T-shirt and a wellness checkup including blood pressure, temperature, iron count, pulse, and cholesterol screening.
LRHS blood drive committee member Manoela Dos Santos, sophomore, said, “It is a very rewarding to be on the committee and I will definitely be a part of it next year. I hope this blood drive is as successful as the past ones.”
LRHS blood drive committee adviser Rebekah Lester added, “Donating blood is an awesome gift of life.”
