Band bags 50 top ratings

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS band took home 50 “superior” ratings from the state Music Performance Assessments (MPAs) at Lake Nona High School in Orlando, Florida. After working for weeks on their individual and group pieces, the band was able to display their strength, talent, and determination.

Superior is the highest MPA rating musicians can receive.

Now the season is ending. Seniors are closing this chapter of their lives and opening new doors at college, adventure, and new opportunities.

Some seniors, like Lily Osborne, are already reminiscing about past performances and incredible memories they have made in band.

“I will miss all of my band friends, but I have learned how to be responsible and determined in the two years I’ve been here,” said Osborne.

Still, as the seniors go, new people will arrive. On April 17, the LRHS Marching Mustangs will reveal next year’s show theme and host sign-ups for next year. Then the 2018-2019 LRHS band will first perform at the Desoto Heritage Parade.
