(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Senior year is coming to an end and students are preparing for graduation. Those planning to graduate this year have some important dates to keep in mind.

First, there is a senior meeting at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, April 3 in the auditorium. Seniors should plan to attend because they will receive important information during this time.

Next, senior awards night is at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1.

Then, senior dinner is at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 3 in the cafeteria.

Cap & Gown pick-up is at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 17. Mustangs can purchase their caps and gowns online or by order form. Forms can be picked up in senior class adviser Ann Fleury’s room, 572. For more information, Mustangs can call Herff Jones at (239)278-4555.

Senior Tristen Newman said, “Picking up my cap & gown will be a big deal. That will make the idea of graduation seem real. My senior year was good and easy, went by quicker than I thought it was.”

Graduation practice will begin at 8:15 a.m. on Friday, May 18 for all graduating seniors. Graduation will start at 7 p.m.

The graduation dress code is as follows:

Top 10% Ladies (Silver Gowns):  Light colored dresses; silver or black shoes

Young Ladies:  Wear dark colored dresses or pants with white collared dress shirt and black shoes.

Young Men:  Wear dark ties, plain white collared dress shirts, black shoes, black socks and black dress pants.

Students should not wear tennis shoes, shorts, jeans, t-shirts or polo shirts.
