Chloe Nelson – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- After an emotional week, the LRHS band’s symphonic winds and wind symphony hit the right notes last Friday at North Port High School at Musical Performance Assessments (MPAs).

Symphonic winds received an overall Excellent rating, including a Superior in sight-reading.  The wind symphony earned an amazing Straight Superior rating on stage and in sight-reading.

The entire LRHS band was struck with grief this past week from viewings and burials of senior Dashwood Payen, but the band honored him in every way they could during their performance.

Sophomore Jack Wilkinson is proud of his band, “We put our all into this and tried to honor our friend as well.”

The 2018 State Jazz, Solo, and Ensemble Festival will be held on Friday, March 23 for the LRHS band. Mustangs are encouraged to come and support.
