(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Officer in training sophomore Brooke Martin and I, dancers of the LRHS Silver Stars team, went to Tennessee for a college dance combine.

A dance combine is a meet at a high school where students are taught different dance combinations and college coaches come to scout out students.

Many colleges were there to recruit dancers for their team such as Ole miss, Clemson, University of Tennessee, University of Alabama, and many more big schools.

Martin said, “It was such a great experience to dance in Tennessee with so many amazing dancers and I hope to go back next year.”

The dance combine was a great experience and it was challenging but it was definitely worth it.  I am so glad I got to go on the trip because it was something different for me and I always love doing new things for the one thing I’m truly passionate about.

As well as Martin and me, other dancers on the team are interested in college dance teams.

Captain and senior Sammy Kedziora has tried out at FSU and USF for their dance program and is waiting to hear back from both schools.  Not only is Kedziora interested in trying out for college dance teams, but so is senior and officer Marisa Skertich.

Skertich will be attending the University of Tampa in the fall and will be trying out for the dance teams.  Many of the Silver Stars alumni as well tried out for dance teams, made it and have been loving every second of it.
