Three Mustangs breaking into rap scene

Julian Hurt – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Recently, on Sunday, March 11, three LRHS sophomores performed a show at the Tampa Orpheum. These students, along with two others, form a collective rap group known as Dead To the World (DTW). Students Hayes DuJardin, Brayden Mathis, and Julian Hurt are three of the five group members.

The remaining two members attend school outside of LRHS. These students are Scott Bowers and Nathan Klaasse.

Each performer has a stage name – Hurt is Li’l cross, DuJardin is Glitch and Brayden is Li’l tuke.

Glitch said, “I had lots of fun at the concert. It was our first performance of many and we as a group are excited for our future.”

When it comes to schoolwork, Glitch commented, “My hobbies outside of school aren’t affecting my academics. I’m proud to say that I have maintained my good grades while improving and continuing my art as well.”

The next DTW concert is scheduled for April 26 at the Tampa Orpheum. Anyone interested in getting more information can soon link to DTW soundcloud and Instagram accounts.
