(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- National Women’s Month is an opportunity in schools, workplaces, and communities to honor the often-overlooked achievements of American women.

The 2018 National Women’s History theme is “Nevertheless She Persisted: Honoring Women Who Fight All Forms of Discrimination Against Women.”  This presents the opportunity to honor women who have shaped America’s history and future. Mustangs are ready to honor women who have shaped their past and futures.

Senior Daniella Castrogiovanni said, “My female role model is Chrissy Teigen because she uses her platform in a positive way and to speak her mind.”

Junior Peyton Mclaughin stated, “My mom is my greatest role model. She selflessly manages to give my family and I everything we need while still managing a career and coping with family struggles.”

Sophomore Lauren Mcgill added, “Beyoncé is my female role model because she accepts her flaws and uses them to boost her confidence.”

Freshman Emily Ridenour said, “Michele Obama is my role model. She continues to use her platform to inspire youth to make a difference in their communities.”
