(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Key Club is a growing organization with global reach. With thousands of clubs in more than 38 countries, the impact of Key Club members can be felt all over the world.

Key Club aims to cooperate with school principals and teachers to provide high school students with invaluable experience in living and working together and to prepare them for useful citizenship. LRHS Key Club member Erika Roja, senior, said, “I can’t believe how popular this club has gotten and how amazing everyone has been at helping out.”

Key Club members around the world learn how to lead and stand for what’s right through service and volunteering. In partnership with their local Kiwanis clubs, high school students make a positive impact as they serve others in their schools and communities.

School student members of Key Club perform acts of service in their communities, such as cleaning up parks, collecting clothing and organizing food drives. They also learn leadership skills by running meetings, planning projects and holding elected leadership positions at the club, district and international levels.

For more information on the club, see advisor Terry Thompson in room 509.
