(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS annual Student Government Association (SGA) dodgeball tournament is set for 6 p.m. Monday, March 12 in the LRHS gymnasium. Five teams of students and one of teachers will go head to head to prove who has the sharpest dodgeball abilities.

The event only costs $3 per student, and every person who comes will be entered in a raffle to win two prom tickets and a yearbook.

All the proceeds from the tournament will be given to the Feeding Empty Little Tummies (FELT) organization. This nonprofit, sponsored by the Manatee County School District, gives food to homeless children to take home on the weekends.

“Every year we [SGA] pick a different organization so we can find a place to give our profits,” said senior public relations officer Sydney Wicks. “This is one of my favorite events of the year. It’s always nice to give to a good cause.”

Wicks said the event would be a fun way to spend time supporting a great cause.
