Sarah Merzak – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH FL) – Spring is time for tests, graduation, club competitions, registration and other potentially stressful activities. It may be a good time for comfort food.
Comfort food provides a feeling of well-being, warmth, and, most importantly a sense of reassurance that everything is going to be okay. Comfort foods can include macaroni and cheese, ice cream, chocolate, potato chips, brownies, mashed potatoes, pasta, you name it.
Comfort food can help someone going through a breakup, dealing with the death of a loved one, or just having a hard day. Many Mustangs say it supplies them with good memories of the past.
“When I have my favorite comfort food it takes me back home,” said LRHS junior Regan Briggs.
Senior Matthew Dugan described what food puts him in a good mood, “You will want to talk to me when I have a smoothie.”
Junior Mikaela Campbell said that when she has her comfort food (mac and cheese), “It makes me feel good and happy.”
Comfort food is a delicate item that can cause people to feel at home and relaxed. Mustangs having a bad day can always count on a satisfying helping of comfort food.
