Sarah Watts – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – As my time at LRHS comes to an end, I am grateful for the people, memories, and lessons my high school career has brought to me.

I have grown immensely as a person over the past four years. My ambitions, goals, and personality have all changed. I started out freshman year extremely shy and scared of high school. I constantly thought about school, my grades, extracurriculars, and college to the point that I rarely hung out with friends.

My two favorite classes throughout high school became Journalism and Television Production, both of which led me to choose the journalism path over business. Being on our morning TV show “Lakewood Live” and having a YouTube channel instilled confidence in me and inspired me to study journalism.

I began to come out of my shell during sophomore year as I made more friends and began to stress less about school. As the years went on, I learned how to maintain good grades along with a social life.

I started out planning to major in something business related at University of Central Florida, but by the end of senior year, I have decided to study advertisement or public relations at University of Florida. The opportunities I received from LRHS, including clubs and classes, led me to discover what and where I want to further my education.
