Claudia Estevez – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- From Wednesday, Feb. 28 – March 4, 30 LRHS Technology Student Association (TSA) students went to state competition and returned with victories in several categories.
According to Mustang chapter adviser Benjamin Long, “The Florida state delegation is one of the largest in the nation, with this conference having 1700 attendees and over 80 schools competing, making it one of the most competitive states in the country.”
The LRHS students came back with four first place trophies, five second place trophies, and six third place trophies.
Long added, ” We brought home four first place trophies and 15 total trophies. These students put in countless hours. It is amazing to see a group of seniors work together for years, learn to function as a team, and follow through with a plan.”
Mustangs in the TSA were able to win first place in Engineering Design, Music Production, Technology Bowl, and Video Game Design
“This team functions like an engineering design firm. Everyone knows their role and who how has the skill sets that they may lack. These seniors are also training an amazing group of underclass room. Wish these kids Congratulations,” said Long.
Senior Jared Herbert was one of the Mustangs who brought back a win after placing second in Transportation with a perfectly painted car he made of 3D-printed parts.
The LRHS TSA chapter won second place overall and brought back trophies to show for it.
