(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS Mustangs baseball team had their first game of 2018 last Monday and it was a success. The season is off to a great start and the players and coaches have high hopes.

The Mustangs beat Inspiration High School 7-1. Sophomore centerfielder Tyler Aberg explained why the team did so well, “It was the first game, so we were all super hyped for it. Also, I think our team has more talent than we did last year.”

The baseball team’s next challenge is Manatee High School. According to Aberg, they’re confident about this game as well.

“The team is a lot better this season,” he said. “That’s because there are more kids on the team that are overall better players compared to some of last year’s players.”

Head Mustangs baseball coach Ryan Kennedy shares the high hopes for the season.

“We have some upperclassmen leaders with tremendous baseball knowledge. This could most likely take us into a deep playoff run as long as we continue the hard work.”
