(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS boys basketball team vies for the district championship at 6:45 p.m. on Feb.16, 2018 when they host Venice High School.

The boys beat Palmetto in the district semi-final Wednesday.

MaxPreps ranks the Mustangs #8 in the state.

Mustangs head coach Jeremy Schiller said the team’s success wouldn’t be possible without their fans.

“We are excited to have the opportunity to play for our third straight district championship and front of our fans,” he said.  “They have been great all year.  We are looking forward to bringing home another district championship for them.”

Junior Brady Roberts looks forward to the game.

“It would be a big honor for the program to win their third straight district championship,” he said. “We still have bigger goals of a state championship, but right now all our focus is on Venice.”

Sophomore Keon Buckley states “We already know what we need to do and we don’t say anything.  We just come and get it done.”
