(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS’ National Honor Society (NHS) sent out application letters Friday to new candidates. Selected LRHS Mustangs will be filling out forms for NHS and will have just one week to complete and return the forms by Friday, Feb. 16 to portable 917.

Membership in the NHS is one of the highest honors that can be awarded to a high school student.

Students will need recommendations and signatures on their forms.

A group of teachers will sort through these forms, review, and make recommendations decisions.

Those who have been selected to fill out an NHS form must have a 3.5 cumulative average unweighted. They must also have leadership, service, and character.

The application stated, “Membership is more than an honor. It is an ongoing responsibility and an obligation to continue to demonstrate those outstanding qualities that result in a students’ selection.”

The 2018 NHS induction ceremony will take place on April 20, with a dinner honoring the new inductees.
