(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – As we approach an early release Wednesday on Feb. 7, teachers are getting ready for their afternoon of training and students are finalizing their last-minute plans to make the most of their afternoon.

For some, it is an opportunity to catch up on their favorite TV series.  Freshman Sydney Buick said, “I will watch as much Netflix as I can before track practice.”

For others, it’s a chance to relax and enjoy the sun. Sophomore Kacy Bua commented, “I have plans to go to the beach with my friends.”

Some students use the afternoon to catch up on lost sleep. Junior Cooper Coorley added, “I’m looking forward to my nap after school.”

Other students cease the day and get in as many extra hours at work as they can. Senior Graham Todoroff said, “I called my boss and he said I can clock in at 1 p.m.”

Students will be released from school at 12:30 p.m.
