(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Three LRHS FFA members, junior Savannah Freitag, senior Isabelle Chamness and senior Alyssa McKinney travelled to Tallahassee this week to participate in Ag on the Hill.

Ag on the Hill is a two-night, three-day trip that members from only 12 schools are chosen to attend.  All expenses are paid by the Manatee County Farm Bureau.

In Tallahassee, FFA members toured all of the political buildings and saw others lobby for current political issues.

“It is a great way to have more insight on how politics can effect agriculture and a great experience with great people,” said Chamness.

Freitag agreed, “It was a fun time, I am glad I had the opportunity to attend.”

McKinney said, “If you ever get the opportunity to attend then take it, you went regret the decision at all. I became so informed about issues today and strengthened my leadership skills, with the help of leaders in FFA and in political standings.”

Anyone interested in joining FFA should see adviser Janyel Taylor in room 914.
