Tanna Cochrane – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS Latin students received great results completing the National Classical Etymology Exam. The exam tests the knowledge of student’s Latin and Greek derivatives as well their usage in the English language.

LRHS Latin teacher Stefania Mitzithras said, “This is the eighth year of the exam and over 2,000 students from around the country participated.”

“In order to achieve this,” Baker said, “I did a lot of studying and used resources from the National Junior Classical League (NJCL) website.”

Baker is signed up to complete another three exams this year.

Mitzithras said Baker wasn’t the only successful Mustang.

At the Intermediate Level (grades 9, 10), freshman Carly Baker achieved bronze level honors while freshmen Mackenzie Hopkins and William Flood won silver.
