(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- About 66% of American high school graduates go to college. Once students decide they want to go to college, they should immediately start to fill out scholarships while they are still in high school.

LRHS college and career adviser Michelle Todoroff has created a list of scholarships that students will be able to fill out if they want to.

To be able to fill out the scholarship forms, students must be juniors or seniors and meet all other requirements the scholarships may have. When starting to apply for scholarships, it is important to read the criteria because some of them on the lists are for specific schools.

Some scholarships might also require students to stop by certain classrooms or to contact Todoroff.

“I think scholarships are really important because it helps make the transition to college a lot easier for many students. Instead of worrying about money, students get to concentrate on what they’re learning,” said sophomore Claudia Estevez.

All of the scholarship applications will be due by the end of this year, so students must be sure to complete them as quickly as possible.
