Sofia Anderson, Sydney Davis and Donna Dunkum – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – On May 18 over 500 LRHS seniors will walk across the Bradenton Area Convention Center stage and receive their diplomas. With graduation right around the corner, LRHS seniors are sharing their thoughts on what they plan to do after graduation.
Mustang seniors have mixed emotions about the upcoming graduation and their plans for life after high school.
Senior year is an interesting experience for Dolf Svoboda.
“Senior year was good, but I’m ready to move on,” Svoboda said.
Svoboda stated, “I’m scared for graduation but I am more excited that I will get to start something new. After graduation I want to spend most of my time working and studying in aeronautics at Embry-Riddle University.”
Tristen Newman said, “I feel bittersweet about graduation, due to the fact that we have so little responsibility until we walk across that stage. After that, there’s a great deal of expectations that are going to be coming our way. Senior year has really flown by and we’re closely approaching the end. As it comes to a close I think a lot of people are beginning to think about the traditional college route. However, I want to do quite a bit of traveling while I still can.”
Erin Eilers stated, “I feel wonderful about graduation, I wish it could come faster. After graduation I am moving to St. Petersburg, to attend St. Pete College. I plan on either becoming a lawyer, a psychologist, or a veterinarian; I’m still torn up between those.
Looking into the future, the graduating seniors leave their wisdom and tips about senior year for the students that will come after them.
Svoboda stated, “My advice for upcoming seniors would be to work hard in your classes and set a goal for each class.”
Tristen Newman stated, “My advice for upcoming seniors would be: You can’t pass anyone by following their steps. Look beyond and pave a new route to the goals you want to achieve.”
Eilers stated, “My advice would be to stay on it, try to not miss a lot of school, and to make it fun.”
