(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LHRS Boys’ Basketball Team had one of its biggest wins of the year last week, a 97-73 non-district victory over the Booker High School Tornadoes in front of a full house at home on Jan. 10.

The first half of the game featured 10 lead changes and four ties, at halftime the score was 38-all. In the second half the Mustangs successfully slowed Tornadoes guard Jordan Curtis and took the lead after a 9-0 run.

LRHS sophomore Keon Buckley added 21 points to the scoreboard, senior Evan Spiller also reached double figures by scoring 12 points for the Mustangs.

Head coach Jeremy Shiller said, “They wanted to win this game really bad. I didn’t see them quit one second. We have a lot of room for growth. We just keep working hard, see how much better we can be and how good we can become.”
