Morgan Lingle and McKenzie Mazzella – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – This weekend the LRHS Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) participated in the Whispering Pines Inverness Orienteering Meet. This meet featured junior varsity and varsity teams.

Battalion Commander Senior Breanne Mazzella said, “I’m proud of the way the team placed and the sportsmanship they showed towards other teams.”

LRHS faced tough competition, running against 17 other schools and 200 other runners. The varsity team took home first in intermediate category.  Junior varsity placed second overall, and second in both the novice and intermediate categories.

The next JROTC meet is this Saturday at Oscar Scherer State Park in Nokomis.
