Nicolette Ngov – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – On Thursday LRHS hosted an open house for its incoming freshmen. This event showcased the different clubs and academic opportunities available on campus.
“It was a great event,” LRHS Principal Craig Little said. “We had over 600 families represented and they had the opportunity to learn about everything we have to offer.”
Clubs such as HOSA, National Honor Society, Technology Student Association (TSA) and United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) all came out to promote their clubs. They set up booths and gave out information about their clubs and the opportunities available for members.
LRHS HOSA Vice President Adina Mayo said, “We’re answering questions that people may have about the club as well as handing out flyers about the different competitive events.”
The incoming students were not only able to get to know all the different clubs but they got to see all of the vast academic opportunities at LRHS. Eighth grader Cameron Perry said, “I liked how I was able to ask questions about the best path for me to take during high school.”
The open house was a great way for incoming students to become familiar with the campus and to learn more about how this school works.
Eight Grader Madeline Fields said, “It’s nice to get familiar with the campus before I come so I’m not totally lost when I start school here.”
