(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- LRHS Marching Band is performing in Palmetto’s Martin Luther King Parade at 11 a.m. this Saturday. The color guard and other parts of the band will march and perform to “The Horse” and other chants throughout the parade.

It has been an annual tradition for the past 16 years to attend this parade.

LRHS band director Ron Lambert loves to do this parade each year.  He said it gives the band an opportunity to entertain, but also to recruit people for next year.

“We do these parades for community outreach. We try to show everyone what we can achieve as a band,” stated Lambert.

Senior Lily Osborne is excited for the color guard to participate. “We get to show off our skills in pom, flag, rifle, and baton to everyone,” said Osborne.
