(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS Key Club is off to a busy 2018, offering students upcoming events. The club gives students opportunities to participate in long-term community service projects.

Some of the upcoming events include:

  • MTC Event Set-Up: Jan. 10 from 3 – 5 p.m.; 6305 E State Rd 70, Bradenton; Volunteering with the Manatee Chamber of Commerce, helping them set up their luncheon event.
  • YMCA Ringling Bridge Run: Jan, 13 from 7 – 12 p.m.; 777 N Tamiami Trail, Sarasota; Volunteers will fill a variety of roles cheerleading, handing out bottled water, and helping with clean-up.
  • Big Cat Habitat Beautification: Jan. 14 from 10 – 1 p.m.; 7101 Palmer Blvd Sarasota; Cleaning up Big Cat Habitat after Hurricane Irma- rehang and fill some of their hanging baskets that got destroyed. Volunteers will be adding dirt & flowers.
  • Myakka Elementary Valentine’s Day Dance: Feb. 8 from 5 – 8 p.m.; Myakka Elementary School, 37205 Manatee Ave, Myakka City; Volunteers will be decorating and cleaning up. Some people will be serving food, helping with the photo booth, and more

The Key Club meets 2:30 p.m. every Tuesday in LRHS art teacher and Key Club adviser Terry Thompson’s room, 509.
