JROTC honors faculty and staff

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- LRHS’ Junior Reserved Officer Training Corps (JROTC) voted on their teacher and administrative staff member of the year for 2017-18.  The winners will be recognized at the JROTC Winter Formal Dance.

The tradition started last year when the first “teacher of the year” was awarded to Physical Science teacher Mark Napier.

This year, cadets in the program voted in their classes for their favorite teacher and administrator at LRHS. The cadets voted based on faculty interaction with students, if they are involved in the JROTC program, and their ability to go above and beyond outside of the classroom.

This year’s teacher of the year is drivers education teachers’ assistant Elijah Weaver, and administrator of the year is dean Jake Sponsel.

The two will be invited to the annual winter formal on Jan. 19 and will be awarded a plaque for their dedication to LRHS.
