Candy canes can mean medicine for global aids patients

Rachel Monroe – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – It’s the season of giving and LRHS students are looking to make a difference. This month the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) club is raising money for economically disadvantaged AIDS/HIV patients to buy medicine.

This week in cafeteria Mustangs can help by purchasing a candy cane for $1 and have it sent to someone you know or even sent to themselves.  You or the person you send the candy cane to will receive it during seventh period next Thursday, Dec. 14.

Mustangs planning to purchase a candy cane need to inform UNICEF Club volunteers of the name and seventh period class of the candy cane recipient.
