(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS Marching Mustang Band marched in the annual Myakka Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 2.

The band has participated in the Myakka Christmas Parade for the past 19 years, 14 under the leadership of band director Ron Lambert. The musicians played the classic song, “The Horse” and marched down the street to cadences played by the drumline, spreading holiday cheer in Santa hats.

Junior tuba player and Myakka resident Matthew Bartoszek said, “I’ve lived in Myakka for 16 years and the parade was fun. It is important to the community because we all get together and meet new people who live in the same place as the rest of it. It shows people who don’t live in Myakka all of the things we have to do.”
