Parent Association helps migrant families

Sofia Anderson and Sydney Davis – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- For the past 11 years, the LRHS Parent Association has collected food for some of the migrant families whose children attend our school. This year, they want to donate to all 35 families by providing them with ingredients for a hearty and healthy meal.

The goal of the drive is for LRHS families to each sponsor a bag of food per family, and to also include a $15 gift card from a local grocery store so the migrant families can purchase a meat item of their choice.  The Parent Association needs your food and gift card donations in order to provide a bag for each family.

Once the food bags are collected, the LRHS Migrant Family Liaison Bertha Salazar will coordinate delivery to the migrant families.

Bags can be dropped off in the LRHS front office before 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 6 and Thursday, Dec. 7.

Anyone wanting to participate can sign up on through the Sign-up Genius website.
