(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Thursday, Nov. 16, is the last day students and staff can bring in can foods for the LRHS Mayor’s Feed the Hungry food drive.

The drive has been going on for two weeks now. Teachers with canned food in their classrooms can send someone to room 514 to get a box to put them in and send them back before the end of the day.  Teachers need to write their names on the outside of the box and count the number of cans.

LRHS Quill and Scroll sponsors the drive, and club adviser and LRHS English teacher Candice Delazzer stated, “I cannot accept any cans on Friday morning – they are coming to pick up all donations Friday, but I don’t know exactly when, so I can’t keep accepting donations during that day. Thanks.”

The first period class who brings in the most canned goods will win a juice and doughnut party, so students and staff are urged to participate right up until the last minute.
