(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)-  Friday will be an important day for LRHS Student Government Association (SGA) as angel tree gifts are due. All donations must be turned into room 602 by Nov. 17.

The main goal of the Angel Tree program is to collect gifts for kids who are may not otherwise receive presents.

LRHS SGA adviser Heather Kasper explained, “It’s a present collecting tree for the Salvation Army Kids in Manatee County that have a wish list. We really strive to provide the best assistance that we can for these kids. In the first day, all 80 angels were taken off the tree, and this highly exceeded our goal.”

She has faith that all the participants will fulfill their promise and buy goods for the children.

Angel Tree recipients make a list of things that either want or need, then submit their wishes to the Salvation Army. The Salvation Army then contacts groups like the SGA for help.
