Mustangs recognize American Education Week

Kara Smith – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- American Education Week begins on Nov. 13 and highlights the importance of public education and celebrates educators making a difference in students’ everyday lives.

The week has a different event each day for the LRHS faculty.  LRHS Spanish teacher Valerie Finnegan is in charge of preparations and making sure the week goes smoothly.

Finnegan said, “I first spoke to Mr. (Principal Craig) Little about our events approximately three weeks ago.  I then had to speak to Mrs. (Bookkeeper Doddie) Ranney and ask for her help in purchasing the necessary items. She is the unofficial school shopper and ensures that we have the muffins, ice cream and necessary supplies.”
