(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – It has been about a year since social media starting blowing up over the Ball family. They have been on talk shows, in both sports and entertainment, and have taken the world by storm by making history in all sorts of different ways.

The Ball family consists parents Lavar Ball and Tina Ballof, and three boys- Lamelo Ball, Liangelo Ball, and Lonzo Ball. All have dreams to go to the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Back on Sept. 10, a new reality show featuring the Ball family began on Facebook live.

Lonzo is the oldest ball brother, with Liangelo in the middle and Lamelo as the youngest.

Lamelo was even the first high school basketball player to have his own shoe.

LRHS junior Jacob Pipercic said, “I don’t play basketball, but I like to watch it. But, I especially like to watch the Ball Brothers. It is cool to see how they make the game more interesting. This show shows their lives in greater depth and it’s cool to see how their lives are impacted by each other.”

The Balls have one player at each level of basketball right now. Lonzo Ball is in the NBA, Liangelo is in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and Lamelo is in high school.

One LRHS student even looks like Lonzo Ball, and is often mistaken for him. Sophomore Christian Shaneyfelt has very similar features of the NBA player.

Shaneyfelt said, “It’s very cool to be associated with an NBA player. I have been playing basketball for a very long time, and I have always wanted to play in the NBA.”
