(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS “Mustang Musings” Literary and Art Magazine is now accepting submissions. Students may submit artistic work belonging to any medium, including creative writing, photography, or art. New to the latest edition is video and audio clips.

“Musings” garnered over 150 student works for the 2017 issue. LRHS junior and 2018 edition head editor Jesse Rines hopes the magazine will continue to grow with these new additions.

“‘Mustang Musings’ is such a necessary asset. It gives students who aren’t typically recognized for their work the opportunity to stand out and become published,” said Rines.

Rines also stated the effect of published work being noted on a college application.

“Colleges look for more than just grades. For students looking at literature or art majors, Musings will appeal to admissions as it shows not only an artist’s talent, but their initiative.”

The magazine will be taking submissions until the end of February. However, the editorial team urges students to submit work in advance. 2017 head editor Maria Gonzalez said, “The more time we have to review your work, the better the chance your work will make it to the magazine.”
