(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Thursday was blood drive day at LRHS, and those committed to this program spoke up out about why they chose to help.
“This is my first year as president of the blood drive,” said LRHS senior Katelyn Carothers. “I do this because it brings out the community. It helps people and saves lives every day. Bringing it to the schools gets people more involved for those in need.”
Senior Kaitlin Duke said, “I’m not nervous at all, I’ve gotten a lot of blood drawn before.”
Sophomore Viktor Kassabov is also interested in giving back to the community by volunteering for the Blood Drive committee.
Others who can’t donate are also helping in a big way.
“I’m not actually old enough to donate blood yet, so this is my way of participating,” said Blood Drive committee’s sophomore Tayla Rosenthal.
