(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- This Friday, Nov. 3, the LRHS varsity football Mustangs will play their final game of the season against Desoto High School.

The Mustangs will have to head to Arcadia to take on the 3-6 Bulldogs, in a non-district game. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

LRHS is coming off a 34-0 loss against Sarasota, while Desoto was also defeated 34-0, by Hardee.

The Mustangs are looking to finish the year with a 4-4 record, which would be their best since 2014.

Coach Mick Kozcersut said that he thought this year’s group improved in a lot of ways, “I felt that we got better on both sides of the ball physically and mentally.”

Despite not making it to the playoffs, he felt this year was a turning point for the Mustangs. “We really worked hard in the offseason to make this year a good one and I thought we did just that.”

He also said, “I felt that the seniors did a good job of being leaders and prepping the younger guys for the upcoming years. But, I know that the team will be ready to play one final game.”
