(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS wrestling season is around the corner. The wrestling team has high hopes for the upcoming competitions, and the team is determined to do better than they did last year.

The first wrestling practice is scheduled for Nov. 6. According to coach Tyler Small, practice is very intense and requires hard work and dedication.

One of the wrestling team members, Jamal Aoudi, stated, “If all you want is a good workout, then come to wrestling practice.”

Practice is Monday through Friday, so it does take a lot of work to keep up with the wrestling team.

The first actual meet of the year is Dec. 2-3. Small stated, “Our first meet is in Fort Myers (Team Duals). Up to 14 people can participate in a dual meet. Depending on how many wrestlers we have to fill each weight class will determine on how many will compete.”

Small and the team are excited and have high hopes for their performance. Small added, “I’m most excited about the potential to fill close to or all 14 weight classes and being able to compete with several schools we may not have been able to last year.”
