“Every Halloween, if it falls on a school day, Student Government Association (SGA) puts on an appreciation lunch for the teachers. It’s an annual event so we try to make it special every year,” said junior Rachel Weronik.

The menu included bratwurst, hot dogs, macaroni and cheese, chips and pie.

SGA members help grill the food and set up the school dance room filled with Halloween decorations.

LRHS staff and faculty say they appreciated the gesture.

English teacher Mary Ellen Eskett said, “Thank you for a wonderful Halloweenie Roast.”

LRHS dean Kent Ringquist said, “Another outstanding Halloweenie Roast…SGA has done an awesome job.”

Junior member Madi Grogan said, “We work really hard on this event. We start by going shopping at BJ’s for decorations, and then have Bob Evans help by donating food. It takes a lot of effort, but the staff always enjoys it.”

SGA already looks forward for next year’s “Halloweenie” roast.
