(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – R. Dan Nolan Middle School had their annual haunted house on Saturday, Oct. 28 and the event was a success. Students raised $2,100 in the first hour and over $3,000 in total.

The night was definitely memorable for everyone involved. Nolan National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) student Cameron Perry said, “I was able to scare people and do fun special effects makeup on my friends. Although there were a few rough patches it gave me a crazy story to tell my friends.”

However, during clean up a volunteer accidentally broke an emergency sprinkler with a ladder. Those helping at the event were left to run around trying to empty trashcans that could be used to collect the water.

LRHS sophomore volunteer Kara Smith said, “It was complete chaos. Everyone was running around emptying bins, trashcans, anything that could be used to collect the water. Everyone’s shoes were soaked.”
