(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS varsity swim team has been working hard to prepare for their district championship meet coming up on Oct. 28 at the North Shore Pool in St. Petersburg.

This whole season the swim team has practiced two hours a day, five hours a week to prepare for this championship meet.

“I’m excited about districts this weekend because it is my first time going. I’m making sure I stay focused during the practices, so I can get a best time,” sophomore Victor Kassabov stated.

State Qualifier Katelynn Coons added, “I hope all the training and hard work we put in this year pays off and more LRHS swimmers qualify for regionals at districts this year.”

Head coach Julie Santiago and assistant coach Kyle Steinberg have led this team to victory at Manatee County Championships and hope to do so at District Championships.
