(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS Lakewood Loves Animals club held its first outing of the year at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7 at Donte’s Den.

Donte’s Den is a no-kill facility where they board animals for active-duty military personnel, which gives the dog a loving home until the owner returns from deployment. The facility also has lifetime care, adoption, and extended care for dogs whose owners are sick or injured.

The Donte’s Den staff educated the volunteers about the shelter and taught them how they care for their animals. The volunteers also got to tour the facility and play with the dogs.

The club plans to volunteer at the facility every other Saturday for the next few months.
