Robby Rodriguez – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Lakewood Ranch’s FFA chapter has a long agenda this year filled with conferences, competitive events, and livestock projects. To raise funds to support all these activities, the FFA chapter took over the Culvers on State Road 70 on Tuesday. Half of the night’s proceeds went back to the school.
FFA members were inside and outside of the restaurant, wearing their chapter t-shirts and holding signs promoting and advertising the fundraiser.
LRHS senior Jessica Bierds, the chapter’s student adviser, said, “We had about 30 people show up and work. While there we bused tables, brought people their food, welcomed people. The money that we make from the share night will go to benefit all of the members in our program. The funds may be used to buy feed for our animals or to help with travel funds for all of the competitions and conferences we participate in. We are very happy with the turn out that we had and can’t wait to do another event in the future!”
This has been the third year that the Chapter has done this fundraising event. With the support of students along with the generous donations from customers, this specific Fundraiser always seems to be a hit.
“Every year we get together and participate in the Culver’s fundraiser it seems to be highly rewarding, but this year’s experience had an immense amount of donations.” Co-Chapter Adviser Susan Grainger said, “Seeing the energy of the members while getting the attention of customers and advertising the event really shows the appreciation the members have for the Chapter.”
The amount raised has yet to be determined.
