NHS help day proving popular

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS National Honor Society (NHS) is participating in its monthly “Teacher Help Day” this Thursday.

Members will assist teacher around their classrooms after school.  NHS adviser and LRHS English teacher Mary Ellen Eskett said all the volunteers are booked by enthusiastic teachers.

Esket said there has been great feedback about the program from LRHS teachers.

National Honor Society (NHS) is a group of students selected for scholarship, leadership, volunteerism and character. In order to be a part of NHS, you need to have a 3.5 unweighted GPA.

In this group, there is a lot of volunteering work around school and the community. There are also meetings monthly.

NHS meets after school in room 917.
